Back to the Future by George Gipe

4.0

As a huge fan of the films and an avid reader, this book was a must read for me. This book adds some scenes that were not in the movie - such as perspectives from minor characters and scenes that expand upon Marty's character. I enjoyed a lot of these added bits, although some changes might catch fans off guard. One that I didn't like as much was Doc being present during the cafeteria fight between Biff and Marty, but this is more an opinion than anything.

The writing...leaves something to be desired. It's a bit too straightforward and stiff at times, and there aren't a lot of descriptors in the text. I ended up picturing the characters in the movie saying the dialogue a lot. You can also definitely tell that this book was written in 1985 - it contains some words that are just outdated at this point.
