the premise was fun, but the ending wasn't as gratifying as i'd hoped, it even confused me a bit. i don't really understand why katie got back together with her ex? it felt like part of the plot centered on their incompatibility... i don't mind plot holes, but it felt like there wasn't a larger moral to the story. but the use of colour was stunning and i enjoyed the fantasy element, which gave this book a more creative take on time travel. i also loved the supporting characters, and wished they had played a bigger role. the relationship between katie and the narrator was funny, and made the work seem self-aware and like doesn't take itself too seriously. overall, cozy and enjoyable.
