The Casquette Girls by Alys Arden

5.0

New Orleans setting with witches and vampires tied into history. Historical fantasy is a favorite of mine, and the dual timelines of connected witches really sold me. I loved how interconnected many of the characters and their stories are. The ending left some loose ends with certain characters hiding secrets, which leaves me desiring the next book SOON. Fans of The Vampire Diaries would surely love this series, and I’ve been recommending it to friends lately.

Arden being from New Orleans captures the essence of Louisiana in a way that authors not from here cannot. The writing of a Louisiana native set in the state always gives me a sense of home throughout the book.
