Did not finish book. Stopped at 34%.

The writing and narrative structure wasn’t great and would jump between past and present in a somewhat incoherent way. Then you would be in the past so long that by the time you got back to the present you had to go back and reread what was originally happening. It felt more like extended asides, almost like a noir scene, rather than character development.
