I loved the deep exploration of the women characters of the 1950s, but found myself struggling for purpose in the first half of the book. It was worth the push through, because the second half moved much faster and was very intriguing. If I hadn’t read and loved other Kate Quinn books, I might have given up, but it really was a good read.
