Brick's Geeks by R. Cayden

This book had the right bones, but there was just something off about the pacing that made it really hard to get through. I liked the characters, and I guess the plot was alright, too, but it felt so slow. The editing was also pretty disappointing, with names being used incorrectly a handful of times, and random continuity errors throughout. Brick bought a tall can of beer, then suddenly he's holding a glass beer bottle that he might use to break over someone's head. Not anything that truly makes any difference to the story, but just makes your brain stop, and in turn makes the story stop. I think the connection between the three men could have been deeper, too, as it was a very short time line from beginning to end. One big thing that really bothered me was their first motel romp ending halfway through the scene and cutting to the next morning... for some reason, that really rubbed my brain the wrong way. Overall, it was good enough to finish, but not good enough that I would recommend.
