I adore Adichie’s writing and found this one to be excellent (as expected) ✨ An honest look into childbirth and how it is perceived by society. Whether it’s her mum’s opinions, her having to fight her colleague for a better position at the law firm, or Kwame’s sudden coldness towards her, Zikora navigates through a lot of tough trauma in order to have this child. It all seems to be worth it in the end but it still does not make it any easier. I would highly recommend to someone that wants to delve into something hard-hitting 👏🏼
