Forbidden Puckboy by Eden Finley, Saxon James

4.0

4.5 stars.

I had so much fun with this, I read it in less than two days, I couldn't put it down. I'll get right into the very few reasons I couldn't give it five stars, and end on all the reasons I absolutely loved it. Spoilers ahead:

- The "forbidden" part ends around the 45% mark. I thought they would end up hooking up in secret, and the plot would be around their forbidden romance, but that gets resolved fairly quickly, and... I don't know, the tension around that was done SOOO well, like the moment East really believed that Knox only kissed him to keep him from kissing anyone else, that scene was so heartbreaking, so I do wonder why, for a book with a forbidden romance at the center, we end up with angst that has nothing to do with that, and I just feel like it was kind of a waste. Which kind of leads into my second point...

- They only end up together because Connor tells Knox to go see East. Knox makes brief mentions here and there about standing up to Connor for East, but he never actually does it. I love the friendship between them, I really do, and I love Connor as a character, he's great, but why not have Knox and East secretly date, and then when they're exposed, it could be because Knox steps in for him as a protective boyfriend or something? Or because he exposes himself to Connor because of his love for East? Why not show Knox actually BE East's boyfriend no matter what Connor says about it? We see plenty of him choosing Connor in the beginning, but never a moment where he chooses East, and it just again feels like wasted potential.

That's really all on that. The good?
