The Devil Wears Prada by Lauren Weisberger

2.0

I dnf'd 7 chapters in, 102 pages total. I'm so bored of this book. I've had to force myself to read it and I just can't do it anymore. It's so dreary. So bad. Not what I was hoping it would be.

Maybe it's because I can't stand Andrea. Boo hoo mom and dad won't pay my bills, or give me any money anymore. I keep trying though. They want me to do it all on my own. Oh no my friend is tired of me sleeping on their couch forever and me making zero effort to find my own place, so they do all the work for me. My job is an assistant, but I can't seem to do anything myself, I need others to do it for me or help me.

Or maybe it was that first introduction of Nigel at the end of chapter 4. Where the author made everything he said to be screaming, full caps used, to emphasize how homosexual he was. That's an ick for me. Stereotype much? Even skipping through the book to find other interactions with Nigel, I find the author just doesn't stop doing it. Like, why?

Don't waste your time with this book, especially if you've already seen the movie and enjoyed it. You'll be disappointed. They're nothing alike from what little I managed to read.
I will give the sequels a try, only because I already own them, sadly.
