The Lab Wars by Kyra Fox, Kyra Fox

4.0

Mia, the female lead, has been working towards a new scientific hub for her university, expecting that she would be appointed lead because it’s her specialty and she’s known for her work in the area. She’s furious and hurt when Wyatt, the male lead, is appointed, partially because of how well his family name is known in the academic world. She’s determined to force him out however she needs to. Wyatt is attempting to make a space for himself separate from his father’s reputation.

The attraction is mutual as is the tension and they agree to a physical needs only relationship outside of work. Wyatt feels and wants more early but now he needs to convince Mia he’s worth the risk when she’s been hurt but every other person in her life…

This story is dual POV, well written, and a contemporary erotic, enemies-to-lovers romance. I enjoyed the banter between the lead characters. I empathised with Mia’s risk aversion. I enjoyed their intimate encounters and the way they facilitated the relationship development. I enjoyed the contrast between how close Wyatt’s family was compared to Mia’s.

I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.
