A Little Something Different by Sandy Hall

2.0

Rating: 2.5/5

Okay, now, I would first like to state that I did not rate this book low because it was horrible. Not at all, it was just....forgettable, which is a shame because the premise was pretty damn cute, I just thought it was poorly executed.

This is is a love story told from 14 different perspectives, and none of those perspectives happen to be from the two people falling in love. He see the perspectives of Starbucks baristas, a bus driver, their creative writing professor, even a little squirrel that has interaction with them both.

I though that was such a unique concept, and Hall does a great job of differentiating each perspective, but the overall love story was very bland and sometimes could be quite obnoxious. Though relatively short, this book was overly redundant as the same things happen over and over. These characters continue to end up at the same place, same time, they are too shy to talk to each other, so the moment passes. They then end up gushing about each other to their respective friends, and then the cycle continues. Honestly, I think this might have worked better as an even shorter novella.
