4.5
this was so fun?? it flowed really nicely and had a focus on so many of my favourite things: greek mythology, plant magic and inheritance of creepy houses (okay, that last one’s a little odd but you get it)
and the mums!!! the angels!!! the sweethearts!!! supportive parents ARE real and it’s them <3
briseis as our main character led to a strong voice that honestly knew and understood just as much as we did. getting to be in her head for the short duration of this book was great - gonna go pick up the sequel immediately.
i do wish that the romance side of things was either further developed or not included? it felt a bit out of place whenever it popped up. hopefully this’ll be expanded on in the sequel!
