Miracle Creek, by Angie Kim

5.0

I want to start by saying a huge thank you to the publishers for allowing me to read Miracle Creek in exchange for an honest review.

After reading, Miracle Creek, I really had to take a few days away to gather my thoughts on what I’d just read. This was such a fascinating insight into many things, such as immigration, parenthood, disability and caring for someone who is disabled, and also a truly compelling murder mystery - just when I’d think I had it figured out, Kim would prove me wrong again! I hated having to tear myself away from this book. Personally, I find books with multiple POVs very much hit or miss, but in this case, I loved reading the different perspectives. Every character was relatable in some way, and despite what they may or may not have done, you could still empathise with each one at times. My heart broke for every character at some point. To think that this is a debut novel absolutely amazes me and I’m already looking forward to reading anything that Angie Kim publishes in the future.
