Bloodsucking Fiends by Christopher Moore

1.0

I couldn't get through this book. I wanted to like it but I found the humor so sophomoric and quite honestly misogynistic that I couldn't take it. And I'm often someone whom my husband teases for having low brow humor. There was just something about many of the jokes and jibes that felt petty and kind of mean. Lots of comments I would have expected to hear from a fraternity guy at a college party. A very unsophisticated view of women. One dimensional characters. Jokes that really weren't funny. Meh. Couldn't even finish it all the way - I don't waste time on books I really don't care for over half way through. Too many books - too little time. At first I thought the writer was similar to Tom Robbins but I think the big difference is that Robbins comes off as loving people and their unique quirky messiness and, at least in this book, Moore seems more interested in making fun of them in a really superficial way.
