Just once I’d like to read a mafia romance where the FMC has a backbone.
The MMC blackmails the FMC into a marriage, acknowledges that he didn’t have to do it and that he would’ve helped her even if she didn’t marry him, and then spends the next 300 pages mostly ignoring her until he wants to have sex.
The consent issues in this book also have me a huge ick. MMC thinks that because FMC gave him blanket consent 15 years ago that he doesn’t have to ask for consent again. Too many scenes in the book come across more as assault than romance.
