Lock Every Door by Riley Sager

Okay… so you know how after a while you become confident in guessing plots because a lot of books are predictable and then you’re like: “Oh shit, what the hell just happened?”

THAT is what happened to the gal right here.

Jules is broke AF. (Let’s keep it PG)
She recently became unemployed and on the same day got her heart broken by the man she loved. (You can imagine already)

Tired of sleeping on her best friend’s couch, tired of looking for jobs, she finally sees an advertisement for an apartment sitter in the same place she use to dream about when she was little.

The rules are simple. Do not disturb anyone. Do not bring any visitors and you can never spend a night away from the apartment. Follow those rules for three months and you get $12,000.

After deciding to go through with it, she get to know the rich and famous that live in the building. Only to quickly find out that there’s something weird going on in there.

The Bartholomew has a bad reputation around due to the many tragedies that has seen over the decades.

The friend she managed to make there, another apartment sitter, goes missing and while trying to search for Ingrid, Jules discovers that Ingrid is not the first apartment sitter that has gone missing from The Bartholomew. Something really bad is going one and Jules is not ready for the answers.

This freaking book had me guessing the whole time. Another favorite for life. The ending is so shocking. I seriously was not expecting the twists.
