I’m so happy to be continuing on the journey from the animated series to Korra. This graphic novel asked some difficult questions about colonization and appropriation. I had a really tough time picturing Aang and especially Katara calling each other “sweetie.”
Graphic: Confinement, Emotional abuse, Racism, and War
Moderate: Toxic relationship, Violence, Murder, Fire/Fire injury, Cultural appropriation, and Colonisation
Minor: Death and Forced institutionalization
