From the beginning it was obvious that this book would benefit from an editor. Very few conjunctions in dialogue making it feel stunted, basic copy editing mistakes, and contradictions in characterization across one scene made the book feel unpolished and a little messy. But the bones of the story was good.
I can tell that this author has really interesting ideas and stories to tell, but I don’t know about how well they’re executed. And I didn’t hate the book! It was enjoyable overall, but there are definitely some things that need to be fixed. A positive in this story is that the cast of characters are pretty interesting and I am excited to see how their stories play out in the following books.
