Lunar Park by Bret Easton Ellis

4.0

Bret Easton Ellis is back baby! And this book was fun in all ways. At first I was unsure as it felt like Bret was writing fanfiction about himself... and he was in a way. This is a mock memoir and that idea is so much fun, but the thing is this is a horror novel. 'Lunar Park' was such a creative concept for a book. We get an insight into Ellis' life (both real and fiction) and how his past has come back to haunt him. Aka, 'Patrick Bateman'.

What shined through for me under all the blood and drugs, would be the relationship with Bret and his son, Robbie. The ending struck a knife into me and it shows growth in Bret's writing and his style.

This book is horrific, emotional, and fun.
