One Was Lost by Natalie D. Richards

4.0

A group of teens and two teacher/chaperones go on a wilderness field trip/hike, when the group gets split in two and things start getting deadly. After waking from a drugged sleep, Sera, Lucas, Jude, and Emily find that their teacher is still passed out, their stuff has been taken and ruined, and something isn't right across the river in the other side of the camp. The group realizes that they are being stalked by a murderer. They are in a race against time to save themselves and figure out who is after them.

This is a great creepy novel. Totally gory, but everything any horror fan could want. I thought the main characters felt real. The references to life beyond the current situation were jarring and didn't weave into the story well, but they were a realistic addition. Overall, I was happy with this book.
