Let Love Rule by David Ritz, Lenny Kravitz

4.0

First: it must be noted that this is meant to be a multi-parter and this book is about how Lenny broke into the business. Truthfully, it should be called Becoming Lenny Kravitz. It reveals Kravitz's eclectic life as a young man of color with considerable privileges but who regularly shucked them and took the narrower path as he fought to remain true to himself. Such a path often caused considerable conflict especially with his authoritarian father. Accordingly, the end has a big emotional payoff. As a longtime Lenny fan, I enjoyed the nostalgia. This boy fell in love at the drop of a hat though. LOL.
