The Scarlet Gospels by Clive Barker

3.0

Having gone into a deep book hangover after finishing Clive Barker's Weaveworld I decided that the only cure had to be a bit more of the same. And it worked a treat.

This isn't Barker's best book, not by a country mile but its entertaining and well written. It dose though have a couple of flaws for me,

1. At times D'Amour felt too much of a Constantine clone,
2. Pinhead and the cenobites were stripped of their mystique and somehow lessened.

Other than those to quibbles, thoroughly enjoyable.
