The Witching Hour by Anne Rice

3.0

Where to even begin with this review....

It took me about a month to read this book. I was always interested in knowing more, but information was constantly being dumped on me and I needed time to absorb it.

The thing is on many levels this story is fascinating, the way Anne rice wrote it was incredible. She was able to truly craft a perfect atmosphere and background to this story.

However, like I said it tended to be overwhelming because there was a lot to take in.

We spent a major part of this book just reading this family’s history. Although it was again fascinating, it was a struggle to get though.

I was always divided between wanting to know more and just wanting to resume the main action and follow Rowan and Michael.

Then it was frustrating as well, because Rowan is, on one hand, that typical horror heroine that can’t help but making the same mistakes that her ancestors did even though she possesses all the information necessary to prevent her from making those same mistakes. Sorry to sound repetitive, but I was really frustrated.

On the other hand, because she possesses this information she will be able to defeat the “evil” in the family!
