Playing it Country by Alexandra Hale

5.0

Yet again Alexandra Hale envelopes us in the love and warmth of Clementine Creek and the Thayer family, making us feel like we’re home.
So is it any wonder that after being in town a while Hannah started to question her nomadic lifestyle?

Case and Hannah’s story starts out with a bang and it doesn’t slow down. Their meet cute is outstanding and I love it how it throws our playboy Case for a spin, leaving Hannah with the upper hand. She has so much spunk and she is constantly leaving Case floundering.
The attraction and chemistry between these two is off the charts, that’s not the issue. Case has decided that now is the time for him to settle down which is in complete contradiction to Hannah who is in town for a short time and only after a fling.

I love how a different side to Case emerges in his story, one that he doesn’t show to many but Hannah sees from the start. All his interactions with his family show his commitment to them and you understand why he decided to put Otto first all those years ago.

Both Hannah and Case are at a crossroads in their lives.
Meeting Case makes Hannah wonder if what she needs is to put down roots. I love how the Thayers do what they do best, they bring her into the family and help her see what her future could hold. Case struggles with deciding whether to follow his old path which seems on the surface to lead to Hannah or choose the new path he had decided upon. With a little bit of Thayer family love, advice and a swift kick up the you-know-what they find a way for their roads to lead to each other.

As with the rest of the series, Alexandra Hale has cleverly advanced the stories of the rest of the family without taking away from Case and Hannah. Her family text banter is, again, a highlight of the book with so much fun and hilarity to it.
Alexandra Hale has given us a low angst yet emotional and heart-warming addition to this amazing small town series.
