This was an enjoyable read. Alex and Lucy have a past, one of crushing but no action. Alex and Lucy went to college together but ran in different circles and lived different lives and so though they had feelings, they were never spoken on or talked about. Alex has had enough of the way his life is going. He's lonely and he's looking for more. The one person that he's always wanted that with is Lucy, so he makes an offer that she can't refuse and hopes that it will buy them enough time of getting to know each other and figuring out where things could go. They can't deny their attraction and feelings for long, though they both try and play that game. Things don't go smoothly for the two of them and things conspire to try and tear them apart.
I enjoyed the action in this story and we get a little football along with the relationship. The sex is explicit and fairly frequent, but not overly so. The sexual tension is throughout the entire book, so even when sex is being had, you feel the tension. There's some action and things that they have to work through and see if they can work together to deal with it. I liked this. I liked their interactions with each other, both want to come out on top, so the verbal sparring was great.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
