This book was so good, being able to finally see Hunter get his happy ending. The ride of the main characters starting as friends and going to lovers was so cute. The sexual tension as they are flirting and not thinking the other one wants to do anything is just so great.

The things I have a problem with the book is it seems like the author is trying to add characters to just have diverse characters in her book but making them very stereotypical and harmful to people. The main character was a Latina and I feel like the parts of her that were added were after thoughts. I also don’t know why we have to continue to hyper sexualize queer characters. The main character has a friend who is gay, but their only there to sexualize the main love interest.

In short, I used to love the Briar U series but I think I can’t read anymore. The sexual tension (that I love as much as the next guy) is not worth the icky feeling I get from reading these half baked characters.
