Aaron's Honor by Lindsay Cross

3.0

I received a copy of this book in return for an honest review.

I will start off by saying that although it says this is book one it is not. This continues a theme from Ms. Cross's Men of Mercy series and is more accurately book 6.5 in the series. And honestly I think I would have enjoyed this story much more had I read the previous books. Especially as this story picks up I think where the last one ended. Celine is an admirable female character. She has been kidnapped and finds herself where no civilian ever wants to be....in the middle of a war zone. I loved her strength. She was struggling but making the best of her circumstances. I struggled a bit with Aaron. He was a bit wishy washy. I couldn't get a good grasp on his character. Did he want Celine or not? His guilt at getting her involved seemed to overwhelm him. And I couldn't quite understand where it was coming from. Notwithstanding my issues with the characters, I think Ms. Cross did a nice job of moving her overlying story arc along. I was able to grasp that traitors abound and national security continued to be at stake. It was well written. I have not read Ms. Cross in the past but I think I will give this series a go.
