The Prince's Bride Part 1 by J.J. McAvoy

I enjoyed this book, but the only reason I won’t give it 4 stars is because I actually dnfed it halfway through. But I gave it another shot and I realized I actually liked it.

While reading, I realized the reason why I couldn’t get into this book was because it was a little tame for my tastes. The angst I usually looked for in books was not present, it was more like a Christmas rom-com which wasn’t what I was expecting when I picked it up. And as much as I found odette and gale’s relationship to be sweet I felt no real attraction between them, they seemed more like platonic friends to me(and no it wasn’t because it wasn’t “spicy” I’ve read romance books without descriptive sex and I tend to prefer them, and a book doesn’t need sexual innuendos or *spicy scenes* for the reader to feel the attraction between the couple)

And finally my main issue with the story was that I kind of felt like there was no point to everything that happened. Odette was gonna accept Gale’s proposal anyways, so I didn’t see the point of her dragging the whole thing out when a lot of things were on the line and she needed to get married immediately.

But that ending though... I was not expecting that, I’ll be picking up the next book
