I was a bit disappointed by this book. The premise and the world building were there, but the the book tended to be confusing when the story would jump between present day and memory without clear distinction. Additionally, the story itself felt rushed and the ending left more questions than answers. I'm not sure if this was planned to be a duology, trilogy, or series, but if not, I'd be even more dissatisfied with the ending than I already am. I think a bit more time in development would have helped this book,

A major highlight of the book is the author's ability to right about the different stages and ways people go through grief. Grief fits everyone so differently, and this book does such a wonderful job of showing it.
