Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, by Lewis Carroll

4.0

“Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?" "That depends a good deal on where you want to get to." "I don't much care where –" "Then it doesn't matter which way you go.”

“Oh, you can’t help that,” said the Cat: “we’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad.” “How do you know I’m mad?” said Alice. “You must be,” said the Cat, or you wouldn’t have come here.”

I started Alice's Adventures in Wonderland years ago in French and I stopped for unknown reasons. I finally got to pick it up by listening to the audiobook. I -for some weird reasons- ended up listening to different narrators and my favourite was a lady who did a great job at using different voices for different characters. I had a great time.
However, I have to say that I enjoyed the first five chapters way better than the rest of the novel. It was probably because I switched to another narrator. Also, this book is not easy to understand. I feel like I need to do some research to be able to fully understand it. I was confused sometimes and I felt like going mad myself.

Despite all this, this book was enjoyable. I had fun listening to it and I would like to reread it for a full comprehension of its content.
From the world building to the characters to the queer conversations, everything was amusing.
