The title story was amazing. It was a great story with a great message and great art (+ imagery). I cried several times over the course of it, especially once Chiaki comes back home after SRS and just: “I always wanted to be what you and mom wanted me to be. Really, I did—but I couldn’t do it. Still, I don’t want you to cry.” and his father just responds with, “Why would I cry? Aren’t you happy? Aren’t you glad you got the surgery?” (I SOBBED.)
Choosing to ignore the other stories in the collection because they don’t have anything to do with the title story and are pretty confusing (the art is pretty nice though!).
Graphic: Body horror and Dysphoria
Moderate: Transphobia
Minor: Cancer
