"Darkness is not a bad thing, Scarlett, but do not let it overtake the stars."
I devoured the beginning of this book. This story has it all from death's wraiths, night children, witches, underground society, and fae. Unfortunately, I became quickly frustrated with the lack of communication between Scarlett & Sorin; it's my least favourite trope, and it shows. Scarlett's tragic backstory crushed my soul. Looking back, I have a lot more compassion for her as a character. Lady of darkness has all the elements of a great story and extremely lovable characters but does lack a natural flowing storyline.
