I really liked the storyline. I thought the characters were well written and given such depth an it was a very fun read!
I am only giving 4 stars because Jack losing his power in the end felt so out of place given the context of the entire story. It didn't seem right that magic couldn't save his life. It needed to be taken back given to someone else and then he's given immortality by the choice of Fleur. It just seemed a little bit of a stretch to me.
The only other issue I have is that this book wrapped up real nice in the end. It seemed like every loose end was pretty much tied up and it didn't leave a lot of wiggle room for a sequel, but apparently there is a sequel. Not really sure which way it's going to go or if the plot is going to be recycled with new characters.
Still a great story over all. I do think it is worth reading! The story alone is a refreshing take on the whole magic and mythology thing we see so often in fantasy writing!
