Characters: Viv is the main character and there are other cast of characters

Viv is a retired soldier and wants to spend the rest of her days running a coffee shop. She uses this magical Scalvert’s Stone with a witching rod to guide her to the perfect spot. It leads her to a run down livery, so she goes into town to the find the owner. She buys the land and hires a hob named Calamity to help her fix up the livery into a cafe.

She hires a succubus named Tandri. Together they put together a menu and then they go about their day to day work, and in they bring in Thimble, a rattkin who makes delicious cinnamon rolls.

Everything seems great, but every week or so a man shows up asking for money, they demand that she pay the Madrigal. They makes all of the residents in the village to pay him for being there. Viv keeps ignoring the men that keep coming by.

I enjoyed listening to this, it is a very cozy and relaxing experience. It also is very slowed paced, so if you aren’t interested in that type of pace, then you probably wouldn’t like this book.
