Heart of the Assassins by Stacey Brutger

fast-paced

3.0

By all the gods and demons, this book had a lot going on in its few pages. Too much, actually. I felt like there was no down time, no trough after the peak of the story. Just bam bam bam. I think it could have been good to be a little longer, and the plot taken a little slower.

Also the men in this reverse harem are starting to grate on my nerves. They're overbearing. All of them. This is the kind of relationship where the woman can't even go to buy a latte without a contingent of guards. It's exhausting to read.

Despite this, I'm devouring these books. I'm already itching for the next one. If I figure out why, I'll let you know.
