Okay... I'm glad I finally got to read one of the OG kink books everyone recommends. As many people said, if you're interested in kink at all, a lot of the stuff said in here is well-known to you and is common sense, but I am glad to see such a thorough talk about consent and learning how to talk to your top about what you want.
Although, there are some things that are distinctly White New-Age Religion in a way I'm uncomfortable with. I think kink really needs to take a look at, and learn from, the native cultures where they pull ritual practices from. I also think if there was going to be a discussion on oppression dynamics in kink, specifically around historical tragedies, I would like to hear more from those who engage in it and more careful consideration of how to present that type of play, rather than a few sentences about Nazis and saying the N slur.
