This one was fine. Didn't quite like it as much as the first book. Still appreciated the neurodiversity and sexuality representation in characters and the main characters were gentle with and good to each other once they got to the point... Just started off really in conflict.

Dunno exactly what it was that didn't quite hit, but I think it was that I just didn't understand how Christopher was surprised that his efforts to get Kate to hate him ended up making her think he hated her. Like, he was genuinely shook by this revelation. I mean, if you're being a jerk to someone to drive them away then of course they're going to interpret that as you disliking them. That just took me out of the story a bit.
