I am absolutely in love with this book! Ilsa Madden-Mills tells a story about two lost individuals who have been through some devastating times, but if they could open up to their feelings for one another they could maybe heal one another. Ilsa doesn’t hold back in this book and while you are rooting for Ava and Knox you can’t help but feel everything they are feeling. Each one has their own demons to fight and conquer and I love just the strength they both have. They don’t shy away from the challenges they face and they also realize that there are sacrifices they have to make first before they can truly heal. This is definitely a must read.
Ava doesn’t know what really happened that night. She knows she was raped and whoever did it was someone she knew from the football team, but she doesn’t know who did it. And now she is back at school ready to fight for her memory of what happened and doesn’t care what those at school have to say about her, she is ready to fight for herself.
Knox is stunned that Ava has come back to school after what happens, and can’t help but feel admiration for her. He has always been intrigued by her, and has wanted her, but she belonged to Chance and he knows his best friend still feels something for her even though after that night Chance and Ava have been over. Can he keep his feelings to himself while looking out for her and trying to figure out who hurt her?
As the weeks go on, Ava and Knox are forced together for a class and as they spend more time with one another, their walls begin to come down. But will they be able to let they all the way down and let one another in? Or are the secrets, the truth, and their feelings too much from them to overcome?
