Oona Out of Order by Margarita Montimore

4.0

Just a delight, which was much needed in this difficult week. It’s New Year’s Eve 1982 and Oona is 18. Set to turn 19 at the stroke of midnight, she instead finds herself in her own 51-year-old body. Each year on New Year’s Eve, she leaps to another year of her life. Never knowing if she’ll be older or younger, she tries to guide herself through letters written to her future self. She navigates relationships of all kinds, culture shifts, and historical events as she time travels. Her mother Madeleine and just one other know about the time travel and help her navigate from year to year. Poignant look at what’s really important in life and how to cherish it.
