An Affair of Spies by Ronald H. Balson

5.0

Ronald Balson does an INCREDIBLE job with the nuance on polarity of issues that the characters in this book face. Nathan, a german immigrant turned american soldier, is sent back to germany as a spy. Accompanied by Dr. Allison Fisher, their goal is to help a prominent scientist defect and learn all they can about germanys progress towarda nuclear weapons. Nathan however, has another mission. To find out what happened to the family he left behind. An Affair of Spies is beautifully written, well researched, and deeply emotional all at the same time.
