The Mischief of the Mistletoe by Lauren Willig

4.0

The whole Pink Carnation series has started to wear me out, but this new find from the library restored my interest -- probably because it completely dropped the framework story of the modern romance found in the other books. "Mistletoe" takes a minor character from some of the other books -- the ridiculous, bumbling fop Reginald "Turnip" Fitzhugh -- and gives him the chance to prove his mettle as a knight in shining armor. Even his misunderstandings and daft babbling become somewhat more endearing as he finds a woman who can appreciate his true worth. OK, it's fluff, it's unbelievable romance, but it's a lovely little bonbon of a read for the season.
