Mile High by Liz Tomforde

5.0

okay so i will probably be screaming about this book at the top of my lungs for a very long time.
playboy turns into a simp ✅
sassy female lead who puts said playboy in his place ✅
enemies (ish) to lovers ✅
mental health rep ✅
ex sees her with his favourite NHL player ✅ (absolutely ate that scene btw)

i LOVE zee and vee with my whole heart and i will do anything to protect them. their individual struggles felt so real to me. vee who struggled with body dysmorphia and zee who struggled with abandonment issues and panic attacks. i love how mental health was talked about in this book! zanders is an expert at how to love yourself, and i definitely learned a thing or two from him, even though he leaned towards the avoidant side. and i absolutely stan stevie for being such a badass, i loveee her confidence. but seeing stevie and zanders grow as characters and healing from their trauma was beautiful and i would do anything to witness it for the first time. there is a 3rd act break up but NOTHING about it made me feel frustrated, if anything the only emotion i felt for several chapters was sadness because of how real it felt, it was extremely well done. i usually don't cry for 3rd act break ups but this was so well written that i couldn't hold my tears back anymore (and the last time i cried like that was when i read beach read)
"what happens when you need love, but then you don't have it?" DONE IM DONE IM CRYING.
and i loved how it was perfectly wrapped up when they reunited, "you following me?" GAHD. after thoroughly enjoying 2 of her books, its safe to say that liz tomforde is my new favourite author <333 i think im gonna re-read the right move now ok bye
