I loved this book. As a nurse, I found it extremely poignant because we have have a responsibility to reckon with the dark history of reproductive injustice and medical experimentation on BIPOC folks in the not so distance past and present.
I loved the characters, the plot, and I will be thinking about this book for a long time to come. The only thing I didn’t love was how at times it felt a little bit “rich savior” tropey. However, I think that was part of the point-folks with privilege don’t face many of the same injustices as those in deep poverty.
