Encore in Death by J.D. Robb

Another fun one, and the first new release after I blitzed through the series in a loooooong chain. It's interesting reading them one at a time like this, because you really miss when someone isn't particularly present in this chapter, or etc. Like, Roarke wasn't really in this one, nor was McNab, Feeney, Mavis, Leonardo.

It is a big cast and it would be impossible to give them all focus in every book. But whereas it wasn't even a blip for me when I was reading a bunch of these books in a row - each book felt like a chapter in an overall story - it was a blip here.

Doesn't change the fact that I enjoyed it though.
SpoilerThe eventual resolution of the plot was sad though. I really believed the two of them had the fairy tale, and in the end it was just awful. Oh well. But it's too bad such a universally beloved guy got sucked in by such a heartless harpy, sucked in so hard it killed him.
