Gerald's Game by Stephen King

4.0

This was probably the most messed up book I've ever read by King. The entire book gave me anxiety while reading it, but it was written brilliantly. It takes a lot of talent to take basically one main character in one room, and flesh it out into an insanely unnerving novel. Aside from The Green Mile and Wizard & Glass(which doesn't really count), this is the only one of King's 90's novels I've read, and I'm definitely going to read the others to get a feel to what kind of mindset he was in. I definitely recommend, but with a caveat that you should know what you're getting into. This book is intense. Lots of sexual situations, gore, abuse, and descriptive claustrophobic situations. I've read a lot of intense horror, and a lot of Stephen King, and this one was rough. You've been warned. If you're okay with all that stuff, dive in!
