The Sisters Brothers by Patrick deWitt

4.0

So I was very pleased with this book. It is not in my usual genre that I read but I think that's part of what I liked about it. It starts with Charlie and Eli receiving their new assignment. Part of what I liked was Charlie's roughness in contrast to Eli's sensitivity. Throughout most of the book I disliked Charlie I felt he was cruel to others and especially Eli. I liked that even though their profession was being hired killers, Eli still was so poignant at times. I liked the way in the end that the brothers decided to help Warm and Morris. I know they ended up losing everything because of it, but it really endeared both brothers to me. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because in the end I wanted Eli to get everything he wanted and that didn't happen.
