An Echo in the Darkness by Francine Rivers

5.0

This book has it all.

The character development is *chefs kiss*. I feel like Rivers created characters to represent every walk of life and gave such great perspective to them. I found that the characters made me think really hard about what I believe and brought up a lot of meaningful questions.

I’m also obsessed with the setting. This takes place right after Christ’s crucifixion in the Roman Empire and one of the main characters talks about the early church throughout the book. This time period has always fascinated me for multiple reasons and it was so cool to see it in a fictional book!

Lastly, there are so many wonderful themes that I think authors find hard to capture all throughout Rivers books. 10/10 writing.

I love this series there’s truly nothing like it!
