Iskat Akaris is a member of the Jedi Order and has felt that she doesn't not fit the model the Jedi want her to be. She starts discovering stuff about her inner self and her past and it sparks something in her, something that the Jedi could classify as dangerous. And when the Jedi Order falls, she is offered a new position to explore her power.

Listen, I know I love most Star Wars books I read, yet Rise of the Red Blade managed to completely surprise me. This book is the perfect mix between events we already know and a brand new(ish) complex character that gives this story the spark it needs.

This book took a character, who feels her potential is not being used as it should, and who is angry, in this setting where the Jedi went from peacekeepers to soldiers. And it gave us a story I don't think it has been fully explored before, how a Jedi turns Inquisitor.

I think the Star Wars book community has won with this book. It is a fresh story, still with that little bit of familiarity. It kept me hooked till the last page. I loved how the author explored the character, and the hints she give us to tell that she was different. And no matter how many times I replay Order 66 in my mind, when I read it in this book, I freaked out, especially since Iskat fate was to be different. This book deserves all the hype it's been getting and I hope that all who read it, enjoy it as much as I did.
