Did not finish book. Stopped at 31%.

This was a DNF for me. I got about 30% through and was confused and irritated at a lot of things. The timing of everything seemed to jump around and made no sense. There are a ton of side characters that are written as though I am supposed to know who they are, but I don’t and it was hard to keep track of everyone. 

I would have rather SEEN some of their friendship grow over time before he gets deployed, rather than hearing about it in a sentence here and there. 

Thank you to the author for the ARC, but this one just isn’t for me.
