To me, this series pulled out all the punches for a first book. Great world building, enough explanation while also keeping the intrigue for further books. Loving the characters and can't wait to know more about their stories, specifically interested in getting to know Isabel more. I love the short chapters which made this an easy book to pick up and read even when I only had a few minutes to spare.  While it's quirky with all the magic it also delves into deeper subjects like self worth and loss. Already so invested waiting on book 2 and beyond.
